STAR WARS #1 took the top spot for the year. DC only had one book in the top ten: DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE #1.

It should be noted that STAR WARS #1, BRAVEST WARRIORS: TALES FROM HOLO JOHN #1, and ORPHAN BLACK #1 were all part of a monthly subscription box service, which inflated their numbers.

Once again, Image Comics dominates the top 10 graphic novels, with volumes 1-5 of SAGA all making the list.

How do they calculate this information? It all starts at the comic book shop.

Data for Diamond’s sales charts — which include the monthly market shares and all top product charts — are compiled by Diamond Comic Distributors from a universe of over 3,500 comic book specialty shops located in North America and around the world. The account base includes brick-and-mortar comic book specialty shops, Internet merchants, and other specialty stores.

Unit and dollars sales are calculated based upon orders invoiced and shipped to Diamond accounts during January to December 2015, which comprises initial pre-orders, advance reorders, and reorders, minus any copies that are received back from a title marked as returnable.

There you have it! That's how 2015 wrapped up in the comic book industry! What are your thoughts on all these numbers? Want to compare to last year? Here's the numbers for 2014.
