DC's Upcoming Movies Announced

A Cyborg movie! That is definitely the one I am most excited for. Shame it's six years away. A lot could happen between then and now to make that project a no go. Optomistic about Suicide Squad, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman as well.

Wait.. So no Justice League: Dark? C'mon WB. Del Toro was practically raving about the opportunity at WonderCon '13.

Most of the Antman storylines dosen't connected to Hank Pym, so they can use Scott Lang in the film. But most of the Green Lantern storylines are connected to Hal Jordan, so if they abandon Hal, the GL film will become just a ordinary space opera film, or John Stewart will become a "Another version of Hal Jordan". (just like Bruce Timm did to Kyle Rayner)

Superhero films are adaptations; it's what they do with movies like Ant-Man, GotG, Avengers, etc. There's no reason they can't tell a story about Sinestro or Atrocitus waging War on the GLs just because John is the center of the film. They can use the Manhunters. They can use the Blackest Night prophecy. They can use Black Hand. The Dark Knight films drew liberally from The Dark Knight Returns, but Bruce was young, there was no Carrie Kelly, there were not mutants, etc. They also drew from Dark Victory, but there was no Dick Grayson.

I doubt we will see the GL reboot covering the same territory as the 2011 film.

Really hoping you are joking. Anyway the point was to be happy that we are getting a movie instead of when. You are probably still alive when you are 23 so there is really no problem.

Because If they use this story for John, then THAT John will become NOT MY JOHN, JUST A COPY OF HAL. But if they just introduce Sinestro without Hal, Sinestro will become a normal villian like Malekith of Thor 2.

I want this in the new GL film. Not just this, sooooooooooo many things and storys that GL have. And in most of the GL story, Hal was in there. If they uses that stories for John, without Hal, that would be so akward. If they abandon those stories, that's just dumb.

I love John, and I would love to see him in the future film, but "Abandon Hal and change his story for John!" is just the distruction of the character, I think.

And for people discussing which lantern to use....Why not all four? But come on, the mythology alone dictates it has to be Jordan as the main. IDC if you WANT John, I'm just saying that won't happen. I WANT Guy to be the main but that won't happen. Hal is the one it always focuses on. Personally I'd rather it focus on the whole corps, not just one human lantern. Get all human lanterns and the aliens we love, from Killowog to Salaak

I would love to see Atrocitus be the first big Green Lantern villain! I think he'd be pretty fierce.

What does it say about me that, out of that entire lineup, the film I'm most excited for and hopeful about is Suicide Squad?

Dammit Guillermo del Toro! I was sad to see JLD absent from this list...though are these films just the DC Cinematic Universe? As I understand the JLD won't be in the same universe...anyone have any updates?

Otherwise, SUPER PUMPED for the next 6 years!

Ezra Miller seems more like a wally west to me than a Barry Allen. i think Grant Gustin is the best Barry Allen.

Concerned for Flash casting. Sad I have to wait so damn long for another G.L. flick.

But on the whole? It's looking pretty rad.

This is bigger news for me than BvS, I'm SO excited that we have Green Lantern, The Flash, and Aquaman on the way!

I'll have to research Ezra Miller's work to see if I'm content with him being Flash. I hear he's a great actor, which is about all that matters in playing these roles.

Justice League Part 1 & Part 2? I wonder what's going to happen in those movies. Cool that they have a bunch of movies lined up. I'm excited for most of them. I hope the movies are good. As long as the movie has a nice balance of an interesting story and action I should be fine. I just hope Green Lantern is better than the other Green lantern movie. I hope they have movies where the heroes team-up in a movie like Flash/Green Lantern or a Trinity Movie. Now I think about it, Wonder Woman is going to be in Batman v Superman, I'm wondering how big her role in the movie is going to be. Or if it's just a cameo.

Man I was coming in here just to rant about :P They've gone past pushing their luck on the unorthodox casting are lining themselves up for a flop with this one. I'm picturing him even with a great costume, the blonde hair, but nah...I mean...just nah lol. Hi attitude from the vibe he gives off in the pics is a guy who is laid back, 'whatever' type attitude, I don't see the idea of that lining up with a super fast morally driven hero.

What do you mean by "Really hoping you are joking"?, my point is his character shouldn't be this far behind in the movie landscape. Heck several of the DC movies we have coming out in the future should have come much sooner in my opinion. That's what I don't like. I'm glad he's getting a movie, but me like most people hate the fact that it won't be anytime soon. That's 6 years of waiting?!?!?!?? That's a problem.

I'm not surprised not to see Justice League Dark or Sandman on this list. I doubt Sandman was going to be a part of the DCCU anyway, and Del Toro has a habit of taking on a million projects that he develops for a while before working on something else. I seriously doubt a Del Toro JLD movie is going to happen any time soon.

Overall, I'm happy with this list. I really like David Ayer films and I think he's a great choice for a Suicide Squad movie in a Man of Steel style universe. It's good that a Wonder Woman movie is going to happen finally, along with an Aquaman movie. I'm kind of curious who they will end up picking for their Green Lantern. On one hand, the last Green Lantern movie kind of poisoned the well with regards to Hal Jordan, but they seem to be wanting their movies to match up at least a little with the New 52, so I'm betting he'll still be the main character. Either way, it'll be him or John.

I think Ezra Miller will be solid as the Flash; he's been great in other stuff. Those worried about people not being able to separate the CW Flash from the movie Flash aren't giving audiences anywhere near enough credit at all. It's interesting that they formally announced Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa but still haven't actually announced that Dwayne Johnson is doing the Shazam movie. You'd think they'd want at least a few bigger names on the list.

I'm also surprised that they only announced that they were going to go Batman and Superman movies at some point in the future. Then again, BvS and both Justice League movies are probably going to be the Batman and Superman (and hopefully Wonder Woman) show anyway, so it's not like the characters will be languishing unused. Plus, it gives them more time to try to convince Affleck to direct a Batman film.

Why are people flipping out about Ezra he's a great actor go watch Perks about being a wallflower or We need to talk about Kevin. He's an awesome actor.

Cool announcements all will be for-naught if they turn out to be terrible movies though, or these odd casting choices turn out to suck. I'm just happy DC/WB are at least taking some chances with their characters, curious as to how many of these are taking place in the same world, you'd think all the JL characters would be. Though with the Shazam quote I'm not so sure about SS.

Also two movies a year, where have I seen that before :P they aren't even trying to hide the fact that they're trying to catch up with Marvel.

Not do dure about Ezra Miller getting cast as Flash. I'll jut have to wait and see before I start jumping to conclusions.

But OMFG GREEN LANTERN REBOOT! Bummed that it comes in 2020 but at least we're getting it done! Hopefully we get Hal again but I wouldn't mind if it was centered around any of the other big 3 earth lanterns.

I think he's an okay choice. I think he'll be a young, comedic speedster who is friends with the Ray Fisher Cyborg. I see him getting a haircut, but I don't see him getting a dye-job. I don't think he would look good with blonde hair.

Ezra Miller doesn't scream Flash to me but I bet he'll do fine. I haven't hated a DC superhero casting in a movie since Batman and Robin. I didn't hate Ryan Reynolds or Amy Adams so I have some faith. I would've loved Chris Pine.

The reason I wrote I hope you are kidding is because a word as outrageous is a word that should be used a but something more serious than comics. 6 years will go faster than you think. Especially as you get older.
