On sale JUNE 15 • 128 pg, FC, $22.99 US • MATURE READERS

The Caped Crusader has been the all-abiding icon of justice and authority for generations. But in this surprising original graphic novel, we see Batman in a new light—as the savior who helps a discouraged man recover from a brutal attack that left him unable to face the world.

In the 1990s, Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Dini had a flourishing career writing the hugely popular Batman: The Animated Series and Tiny Toon Adventures. Walking home one evening, he was jumped and viciously beaten within an inch of his life. His recovery process was arduous, hampered by the imagined antics of the villains he was writing for television including The Joker, Harley Quinn and the Penguin. But despite how bleak his circumstances were, or perhaps because of it, Dini also always imagined the Batman at his side during his darkest moments.

DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY is the harrowing and eloquent autobiographical tale of Dini’s courageous struggle to overcome a truly desperate situation. It is a Batman story like none other and one that will truly resonate with fans. Art by the incredibly talented Eduardo Risso (100 BULLETS, DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE).

Not happy about the changes to Grayson but maybe Janin can save Superman after yet ANOTHER crossover. Scott and Greg play too much I was expecting my heart to be crushed but they're sticking around a bit longer.

For maybe the first time ever I'm more interested in Marvel's solicits than DCs. Excited for:

  • Grayson
  • Robin Son of Batman
  • Omega Men
  • Green Arrow
  • Justice League
  • Black Canary
  • Martian Manhunter

Dr Fate and We Are Robin's current stories also seem interesting but I don't normally pull them.

Wow, lots of exciting stuff this month! Although, I couldn't help but notice a lot of creative changes going on....hm. Speaking of creative stages we have another new writer for Superman? Man, they're going through more writers than DC Crisis events.

Holy ****, Soranik Natu is leading the Sinestro Corps now? And I've got to wait till March/April to find our why? D:

I'm guessing Sinestro must be injured or assumed dead for something reason. As much as I love Natu, I don't think she's got it in her to lead the Sinestro Corps. She's got too much of conscience. Super interested to see what happens though.

Not to thrilled about the Superman #51 description. It'd be nice if I could just buy Action Comics, Superman and Batman/Superman and get three separate, unrelated stories. =/

Happy to see Maya is back for this month's issue of Robin:SoB.

Wth is Wonder Woman using machine guns in on that JLA cover. Wtf Hitch?

Also great, another Superman fam event just what we needed.

That was my response after I stopped mentally yelling at the Superman office for repeating a broken formula. Of all the things the Superman line needs, it does not require another event.

However the Super League does sound like a dumb name for what could be a cool concept.

I usually say how much I'm disinterested in the current Marvel lineup, but looking at this is made me realise that I feel the same for DC. Those variants are awful, make sure the guest artist who designed them all never designs a cover again.

Lobdell on Titans Hunt?!!? What the h#!! happened to Dan Abnett? And why is it apparently only eight issues now?

Also noticing no more Tom King and Tim Seeley on Grayson, and no more Patrick Gleason on Robin: Son of Batman. Not to mention all the books where that maintain their writers, but have new artists. Or have half of their writing team but the other co-writer vanished. Or the regular artist is only doing the cover.

Anyway, is Gene Luen Yang permanently off of Superman? It seems pointless to have had him at all if he was only going to do such a short run. And he didn't even get to do any stories with Supes at his regular power levels. I sort of expected Pak's Action run to end, though. He's been on there a good while and is now writing Teen Titans and is already off of Superman / Batman.

And holy!! Legends of Tomorrow maintains its eight dollar price, and Justice League #50 is even more expensive (by a dollar) than all the previous month's #50's.
