Dazzler's New Look

Whoa..............................what?

This is one of the instances where I was glad to read that everyone else felt similarly to how I did about a topic; gratuitously changing a character with little to no regard for how the property was envisioned or how it has evolved. What makes it worse is the obvious, blatant appeal to a demographic line that should be as equally offended.

One person did point out that it is nice that the character is getting some attention; but hopefully we can all agree that not all attention is a positive. Yeesh.

Awful. I'm all for casual-looking superhero costumes but this has no appeal whatsoever. If anything, for such a supposedly "punk rock" redesign this is pretty bland.

I am not impressed at all, but then I think the best Dazzler was the one when she had her own comic.

They did the same thing with Speedball and he became an angst-ridden joke.

Just saw her Wiki blurb and I'm curious as to what makes her an "Omega Level" mutant? I get that the term is nebulous, but still...

@judasnixon: was thinking the same thing. cant wait to hear what she has to say about the look. i know she's been waiting for dazzler to come back and she HATES mystique. looks like we are going to get a "get mystique II" dazzler vs. mystique

I don't hate it (maybe DC has numbed me these days) but I do think it's too much rock, not enough glam. Not feeling the tears.

I like everything except the tears and the skirt. I'd like it better if it was a one piece.

Based on this picture, I'm not too fond of the new look but I really like Dazzler has a character and I'm curious to see in which direction they're going to take her.

She looks like Domino in a torn up Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel suit.

He overkilled but otherwise the idea's not so bad. Remove the green makeup, the turtleneck, the yellow star on the front of the dress, the accessories, replace the boots by a pair of cherry-red dr.martens and there you go.

Here's the thing. This is one image. I don't think it's how any of us particularly envisioned Dazzler, as nobody's been shy about saying (and it's not my favorite redesign ever), but I'm not ready to grab my pitchfork just yet. Kris Anka has an impeccable track record with redesigns. I haven't seen him do one yet that I haven't immediately fallen in love with. So I want to see the in story reasoning, as well as this outfit and how it's changed/used over the course of a couple of issues before I'm ready to burn my comics over it.

This makes sense given what's happened to the character recently, but still. It's really 90's and i'm not sure how I feel about that

I am a long time fan of Dazzler and I hope this means she can finally shead the disco image and really show how great she can be. I have said this before she needs a good writer to champion her and reshape her a bit for current times. The new art image looks like a punk rock Dazzler with some anger and rage issues. Not quite in love with the image but am willing to see where the story goes.

Well at least we got her disco style in Deadpool....soo I will be keeping that for a while...

God dammit Mystique you turn people into angsty ''rebel'' looking messes even when they are not your children ( and there are a lot of them )

Such atrocity! It's almost as if ceaseless torture and mutilation has corrupted Dazzler's soul! May the pain of thousand deaths fall upon Mystique for her evil-doing.

Whatever on the costume. I'm more interested in why she is clutching what appears to be a large swatch of torn human skin in her hand.

She sure must miss Longshot. Cuz now she's even dressing like him. ;-)

I feel like this was inspired by ComicBookGirl19...it doesn't resonate with me, but it's not terrible

Well, at least she's not another blonde, considering it's still difficult to tell Emma and Magik apart sometimes.

lol I don't see what everyone is getting bent out of shape for. Dazzler is a character whom expresses herself with her look. It's a fine, interesting look. I don't mind this for a little while :D

It's sad when I'm liking Dazzler in Deadpool more than this. Her look is garbage. I wish people could get a grip on how to write her as she is a favorite character of mine. Her powers have so much potential and people seem to be at a loss on what to do with her. I don't get it.

With a name like Dazzler and how long she's been around, she needs to be a Diva wearing glamorous yet mature pieces that reflect that. A nice stylish short hairstyle would be cool too. She looks like a teenage metal head.

I don't really care about a character's look. I'm interested in knowing how she will be written. Fans complain about the dumbest sh*t.

I'm sure her outward appearance and change will have some bearing on her future character.

this would have been better than the angry goth teen who got stood up on prom and got like totally embarrassed . the eye make up ok , the hair cut , ok. the emo goth clothes yeah she is going to be taken seriously ...

It look's alright, but I really like the disco get-up :(

I hate this design. I don't want to be so negative, but I love Dazzler!

I don't like the new look at all but am excited to see Dazzler get some more page time.
