Comedy Central Star Got a Letter Printed in X-Factor

He was pretty peeved about Multiple Man's death.

This is the issue he was writing about.

Would you believe that Chris Gethard, the lead actor of Comedy Central’s new show BIG LAKE, was a huge X-FACTOR fan when he was a kid? He even had a letter published in the title wherein he voiced some serious disapproval about Multiple Man getting killed off in issue #100. That’s right, some of you might remember how Jamie Madrox died from the Legacy Virus during Peter David’s first run on book (a run that, incidentally, Joe Quesada penciled at one point) only to come back years later, when it was revealed (I believe) that it was actually only one of his duplicates who’d died. There's another case of the worm turning in comics...

Anyway, check out the video below. It’s a pretty funny entry in the Marvel One on One video series. It's also a little surreal to see a comedian who’s leading some SNL alums talking about an X-MEN spin-off with such knowledge and understanding.

Actually, this would be a good time to ask you, the Comic Vine audience, a question... == TEASER ==

Have any of YOU ever gotten a letter printed in a mail column?

G-Man says he has, although he’s been suspiciously cagey about just which title he wrote to. I strongly suspect it was SPIDER-HAM. As for myself, I’ve never had a letter published, but I did experience something similar when I entered the THUNDERBOLTS Create-A-Villain contest in ’97. I was eleven and I ultimately won a runner-up position behind Charcoal the Burning Man. The prize was getting my name printed somewhere along with some copies of the book signed by Busiek and Bagley. My villainous creation was so cheesy, it makes me cringe in embarrassment, even today. I’ll never tell anybody what it was, even if I got the opportunity to do a video like this!

Anyway, Gethard sums up his experience in a much more entertaining way below. Enjoy…
