Every week, we take a look at some of the most bizarre, exciting, and downright unique things to happen in comics. Check out our choices of the strange and wacky things that shouldn't be overlooked from this week's releases.
There may be some tiny spoilers ahead.
Two Words You Don't Want to Hear From Darth Vader
We all know Darth Vader has high standards. If you're tasked to do a job, he expects you do it completely and efficiently. If you ever hear him say these two words, it's pretty much game over for you.
Best Discussion on Superheroes Changing Their Costumes
It makes perfect sense for a superhero to change their costume on occasion. It might be a symbol or a way for people to recognize them, but no one really wants to be forced to wear the same outfit all the time.
On a side note, it might not be too surprising if Tony Stark actually did say "lol" once in a while.
Best Custom Paint Job for a Supervillain's Van
Kraven the Hunter costume is a little gaudy. You can imagine what his custom painted van might look like. Is it the worst or best paint job?
Best The Empire Strikes Back Reference
The Bat-family has been in the fight of their lives. Just as Harper Row starts making a stand against Mother, Spoiler arrives is one of Harper's shock guns. Seems like the perfect time to quote a Star Wars film.
Best Terminator 2 Reference
Cyclops has recently caused big problems for mutant/human relations. Toad, the former member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, has decided to kidnap the young Cyclops who is currently stuck in the present. Toad figures if he takes out the younger version of Cyclops, the problems in the present will be erased. As he contemplates his actions, he starts making references to The Terminator movies.
Best Jaws Reference
Jaws referenced in an Aquaman comic seems like a given. When a strange murder with aquatic themes happens away from the ocean, the Jaws references begin. At least one of the investigators has the class to try to put a stop to them in order to take the situation seriously.
Best Advice on Playing With Eyeballs
There are some rules that shouldn't have to be mentioned. Kids should know that mutilating people in order to play with their eyeballs is a no-no. Then again, this is the future in Judge Dredd's world.
Best "This is Your Life" Moment
Steve Rogers, the original Captain America, recently lost the Super Solider Serum and reverted to his true age. In the middle of a dangerous mission, Steve is reminded of the great moments in life.
As for what happens afterwards, you can read our spoiler recap HERE.
Best Reason for Superheroes and Villains to Rethink Costumes
Most superheroes and supervillains wear spandex costumes. It makes it easier for them to move around in their daily activities. The problem is when the weather changes, the regular costume might not be the most ideal outfit. This is something we discussed before and is mentioned in this week's Spider-Man comic.
Best Reason Supervillains Shouldn't Trust Batman
Sometimes, heroes and villains have to team up to take on a bigger threat. Parasite agreed to help the Justice League out against an evil Kryptonian set to take over the world. Parasite thought he'd get unlimited power for himself but Batman lied.
Most Bizarre Guns
Daredevil has been fighting the crimelord known as Tenfingers. This guy literally has ten fingers on his hand. With that many digits, you might be able to imagine what a gun he might use would look like. Our question is, if it has that many triggers, how many bullets does it fire at once?
Best Use of Social Media by a Superhero
Daredevil has been working with a new hero calling himself Blindspot. When needing to reach Daredevil and unable to call him directly, Blindspot simply tweeted to his followers and asked them to say three words out loud, in the hopes that Matt Murdock would hear someone deliver the message.
Back to the Future #6
Best Obvious Secret Lab we Never Thought About
If you've seen the Back to the Future movies, you know the story how Doc Brown built a time machine out of a DeLorean. The thing we never really thought about was, how did Doc build this without Marty knowing about it until he was ready to show him? We know Marty visited Doc's place often. He would've seen the car and Doc's progress. It turns out he had a secret lab where he was able to build the time machine.
