Every week, we take a look at some of the most bizarre, exciting, and downright unique things to happen in comics. Check out our choices below of the strange and wacky things that shouldn't be overlooked from this week's releases.
There may be some tiny spoilers ahead.
Best Description of New York City in the Summer
Kate Bishop is having a flashback. She describes what New York City smells like in the Summer.
Best Mad Max: Fury Road Reference
Hawkeye is chasing after some HYDRA agents. Hawkeye tries getting an agent to stop the truck she's driving, but she keeps saying the same thing over. Clint has a little nickname for her in reference to Fury Road.
Best Code for Help
We all know that Batman is always prepared for everything. Despite this fact, Superman still offers his assistance to Batman, should he need it. He suggests a special code should Batman need help. Imagine Batman having to say this.
Best Reason Superheroes Should Carry Tweezers
X-23 has taken the Wolverine guise and shows some bystanders the value of having a pair of tweezers.
Best Use of a Healing Factor
In her own book, Laura is teaming up with Wasp. They shrink down to enter a friend's body to try to destroy all the evil nanites inside. Wasp doesn't think they can keep it up as they start to become overwhelmed. Laura tells her she can keep it up and her healing factor will repair any damage or strain to her muscles.
Best Alternate Reality Batman Costume
If you haven't been reading the Superheavy arc or know what's going on, we won't even begin to explain what exactly is happening at this moment. All you need to worry about is how cool this alternate version of Batman looks in a brighter costume. It would even make a great additional Batman in an action figure assortment.
Best Alternative to Chimichangas for Deadpool
People seem to think all Deadpool wants to eat is chimichangas. Here, he points out that his appetite does crave other things from time to time.
Best Indiana Jones Reference
The Avengers Unity Squad traveled to Weirdworld to try to get Black Knight to stop what he's doing. When they're attacked by some snake men, Deadpool makes a little adjustment to a certain line from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Best Clark Gregg Reference
When Deadpool is asked if he knows what a shield is, he makes a reference to a show Clark Gregg was on before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Best Totally Awesome Team-Up
Teaming up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles might not be Batman's first choice, but they're having a blast.
Best Use of an Inert Robotic Dinosaur
When the Ninja Turtles first snuck into the Batcave, Michelangelo took full advantage of exploring all of Batman's wonderful toys.
Best Reason the Ninja Turtles Should Fear Alfred the Butler
You can't blame Alfred for being so protective of Batman and the Batcave. The Ninja Turtles just better watch themselves around him.
Best Reason Heroes With Long Hair Should Wear Scrunchies
Silk is fighting the Goblin Nation. One member grabs her by the hair from behind. It is sort of like cheating.
Best Hallway Fight Scene
After making a little getaway, Silk tried using a uniform of a Goblin Nation member to continue sneaking around their lair to gather more information on their secrets. She's unfortunately discovered and has to fight them again. At least it looks cool.
Best Reminder That All Employees Must Wash Their Hands
James comes face to face with an evil man that's killed a bunch of people and has released a drug with a disease within. He reminds him that it's a good thing to remember to wash your hands.
Best/Weirdest Avengers Fan-Fiction Scene
Kamala Khan, AKA Ms. Marvel, was a huge Avengers fan before she gained powers and became a member of the team. After the new Thor kissed the new Captain America, she comes up with a scene in one of her fan-fiction stories involving the kiss.
Best/Freakiest Fear Toxin-Induced Vision
Harper Row is trying to fight the mind controlling influence of Mother. Being exposed to Scarecrow's fear gas is a way to help fight it. She just was told about what Cassandra Cain did long ago and that has worked its way into her fear-induced visions.
Best T-Shirt for an Evil Alternate Universe Matt Murdock
There was a time when pretty much everyone knew Matt Murdock was Daredevil. He continued to deny it and even wore a shirt that said, "I'm not Daredevil." In the Spider-Gwen alternate universe, Matt Murdock does things a little differently and is seen wearing a shirt reflecting the difference.
Best Reason not to Wear a Crown Everyday
Jughead is convinced there's an evil plan going on at the school with the new principal that took over after Mr. Weatherbee was surprisingly fired. Will anyone listen to a guy that wears a crown all the time? Jughead also reveals he doesn't call it a crown.
Sometimes characters just need to dance to let off some steam. Mike Del Mundo's art makes it look really good.
Best Online Auction Bidding War
What do you do if you discover a crashed alien ship with a dying alien possessing a Green Lantern power ring? You try selling it on eBay (or WeBay). We see some guy and Harley get into a bidding war over the ring.
Best Reason to Become a Vegan
Some people wonder if they should become a vegan. A couple of Kamala's classmates discuss this, and we hear a good reason to consider it.
Most Disgusting Use of a Cow
For a cow, what could be worse than being butchered and turned into hamburger? How about being ripped in half by a hillbilly Hulk (in the future)?
Strangest New Partners
Things aren't looking too great for the Flash. The police want to take down the Flash and Barry Allen discovers his new partners that will be helping out--his villains, the Rogues.
Worse Alternative to Getting Hit in the Face
Doctor Mirage needs to get an evil spirit out of a body and the only way is to knock the body unconscious. The body's owner asks for her not to hit the body in the face. That might've been better than the alternative.
Best Way for Deadpool to Get Revenge on Iron Fist
Deadpool has decided to get back at people that have done wrong by him. Iron Fist insulted him before so Wade pays him a visit to get his revenge.
Best Look at Deadpool and the Avengers’ HQ
As we often saw in comics from the 60s and 70s, we get a look at the new Avengers headquarters. It also serves as a mini-game: Help Find Deadpool's Gun.
