Best Battles in New Comics: 7/3/15

This week, we're featuring fights from SECRET WARS #4, LOBO #8, and FUTURE IMPERFECT #2.

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

There will be some spoilers below!

SECRET WARS #4

(By Jonathan Hickman, Esad Ribic, and Ive Svorcina)

With everyone on Battleworld, each domain contains characters from different timelines. Some survivors from the 616 universe have just discovered the situation and who is in charge. Doom arrives and begins to take charge.

He lets them know that it's his world. He is the ruler and god here.

Of course the heroes won't go for this. Especially Cyclops. Before the final Incursion, he managed to regain the Phoenix Force and is ready to claim his place and take out Doom.

Cyclops is a mutant. He believes that makes him more than a man. With the Phoenix Force, Doom can't compare to him.

Unfortunately Scott doesn't realize how much power Doom has. Having the power of the Beyonders appears to be more than what the Phoenix Force can handle.

LOBO #8

(By Cullen Bunn, Cliff Richards, and Blond)

Things start out with Lobo having his hands full, deep in a fight against a Thanagarian, a Martian, and a Daemonite. It won't be an easy fight but that's why Lobo was hired in the first place. It also means he can really cut loose against them.

Lobo takes his share of injuries but that won't stop him. After focusing on the Martian, he turns to teh Daemonite.

Later, the job takes him to another place. He needs to talk to a certain person but getting inside won't be easy. He figures he'll just walk right in the front but what about the guards?

That's one way to gain entrance. But what happens when he tracks down his target? Read the issue to find out how much more bloodshed there might be.

FUTURE IMPERFECT #2

{By Peter David, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, and Nolan Woodard)

Last issue we were left with the shocker that the leader of the revolt against Maestro was the Thing. But it turns out this is a slightly different Thing. Who it really is is another story. You're here for the fighting part, right?

The fight goes on for a bit. After slugging it out for a little while, it's time to kick it up a notch.

Maestro is pretty brutal. We've seen Hulk vs Thing fights many times. This is different.

This Thing doesn't give up. Despite all the punching and slamming, he keeps trying to get up. Even when the others start attacking him, will it be enough to stop him?

Is this the end? Actually, it's not the end of the issue. There is more going on.

Honorable Mentions

We may not do Honorable Mentions each week. There were some last minute changes and some good suggestions from dondave, tensor, and Life_Without_Progress. GREEN LANTERN #42 came close, as did GUARDIANS TEAM-UP #7 and A-FORCE #2. But what about the epic game of dodgeball in GIANT-SIZE LITTLE MARVEL: AVX #2?
