I like the idea of the poll, but it's a little hard to tell based on just a selected set of pics. I understand the need to use only a selected set of pics, it's just not easy to tell for voting.

I went with the Deadly Class, though, looked sweet. The battle in Inferno was fun..."My name is Nightcrawler, you look like my father, prepare to die!" (or something to that effect)

The artwork in comicbooks these days is horrible. What happened to the styles of John Byrne, Frank Miller, Chris Claremont, Todd McFarland???? This stuff looks like 7 year olds drew it.......yuck

Would like Kate's costume to remove the holes on her waist - kind of a pointless element. I had to vote for "Deadly Class" - that's how you make a story about revenge.

The collours are ridiculous. Seriously, is this thing starring Casper the Friendly Ghost, or did they jus forgot to collour him?

The storytelling is nonexistent. That page with random, unconnected, panels is just baffling! What in the hell is that?

Insanely good? That shouldn't even classify as fit to be published.

@jota23: The storyline involves the scene, also, before you judge know what the plot and storyline is about. The art is amazing compared to most of Humberto Ramos' work,which is disgusting.

There is no flow between those pannels, no connection, no atempt of creating an interesting fight scene. It's a bunch of random pannels, many of them so mudled and badly collored that it's hard to understand what is happening in them, much less getting a sense of how the fight is going. It's bad storytelling.

It probably doesn't help that Sorrentino probably got no direction from Bendis, besides "they fight", but the fact is that he doesn't have the chops to draw a long fight scene.

If your going to have a long fight, that goes on for several pages, you got to have an artist that's good in both storytelling and fight choreography, so the readers can see the evolution of the fight from panel to panel. If it's just random chaos, then you just wasted a bunch of pages on nothing, when they could have been used to advance the story.

That's what your "best fight of the week" is: a bunch of random, incoerent, crap, that could have been completely cut from the story, if not for Bendis need to pad the issue, to reach the page count.

It's badly written, badly draw, padding!

@jota23: The plot is fine, the art was good, what your doing is hating. It's not padding, matter of fact, it's supplying the reader with a fight scene from the very beginning of the series, which they are doing in every secret wars involved title. The plot makes clear sense because it a continuation of the first run. So, unless you got the first series, you probably wouldn't understand the point of this, or the fight scene. Which is pretty clear from my angle.

The art on Old Man Logan and Deadly Class wasn't that great,it wasn't hard to follow or understand. The art itself was just not impressive. As far as Kate's costume I see no issue with it

Again, I know what the plot is. I know why that fight was happening and yes, it made sense that it happened. My point is that it was a bad fight! Nothing interesting happened in it and it was badly drawn.

The issue would have been better if that fight was shorter or nonexistent, and the pages used in it were used to advance the thin-as-a-sheet plot. That doesn't mean that I don't like a good, drawn-out, long fight. I've read some that were awesome!

But a good comic book fight needs a writer that can write action and an artist that can draw it. Old Man Logan has neither of those. Hell, that was the only good quality of the original story! Millar, despite his many flaws as a writer, can write a mean action scene and McNiven can draw it. This one doesn't even have that.

@bluechloe: I strongly agree, it seems that a lot of people who should stay amateurs are illustrating comics these days, the average standard seems incredibly low, especially at D.C. I have my suspicion that comics are seen by those who run the companies now as just ads for their movies and games...
