Best Battles in New Comics: 11/6/15

This week, we're featuring fights from STAR WARS #11, MIDNIGHTER #6, and JAMES BOND #1.

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

There will be some spoilers below!

STAR WARS #11

(By Jason Aaron, Stuart Immonen, Wade von Grawbadger, and Justin Ponsor)

Chewbacca vs Dengar!

Chewie gets attacked from behind and is held in an electrified stasis field. Dengar is looking for Han Solo to collect on the bounty.

C-3PO actually does a heroic thing and interrupts the device by shorting it out. Chewbacca's not happy. That means it's on!

Dengar is able to hold his own. Despite Chewbacca flinging him a bit, Dengar has more toys up his sleeve. But Chewbacca stops him before he can use the next one.

Dengar still has more up his sleeve--or in his pockets. He attaches an explosive device to the back of Chewie's bandolier and kaboom.

Chewbacca's tough but he goes down. Even so, he's not out of this fight yet. It may look like Dengar finally has the upper hand but...you'll have to buy and read the issue to see what happens next.

MIDNIGHTER #6

(By Steve Orlando, ACO, Hugo Petrus, and Romulo Fajardo, Jr.)

Midnighter is attacked but thankfully he's able to get away from the blast. As he jumps out the window towards the attacking helicopter, he makes use of whatever is around, like a fork.

As one of the attackers falls out of the copter, he's attached by a tether which allows Midnighter to climb up to continue the fight.

As Midnighter does away with the men, the pilot has the bright idea to taunt him further.

Probably not the smartest thing to do.

"Krunch!" It's a good thing Midnighter knows how to pilot a helicopter.

There's actually quite a bit more fighting in this issue--some glorious fighting.

JAMES BOND #1

(By Warren Ellis, Jason Masters, Guy Major)

Over the years, we've seen different versions of James Bond through the novels, movies, and comic strips. As we open this issue, we wonder which we'll get but we're thrown straight into the action. Bond is chasing after a guy shooting back at him. They end up going through a construction site and Bond manages to throw a cinder block which lands right on the guy's back.

The chase turns into a duel with shovels.

Bond manages to kick him painfully at the knee and brings the shovel down, likely slicing off some toes. The guy falls back and Bond jumps down at him.

There goes the fingers. This guy tries to continue. He's left writhing in pain and asks who Bond is. Bond explains why he's after him and who he is. You know it's going to be the last thing he ever sees.
