Best Battles in New Comics: 10/2/15

This week, we're featuring fights from JUSTICE LEAGUE #44, INFERNO #5, and GREEN LANTERN ANNUAL #4.

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

There will be some spoilers below!

JUSTICE LEAGUE #44

(By Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, and Brad Anderson)

The Darkseid War is underway and the Justice League have front row seats. It's Darkseid vs Anti-Monitor and things are about to get ugly.

While these two powerhouses battle it out, they're not the only ones fighting. Grail is fighting against her father on Anti-Monitor's side while Kalibak is fighting with Darkseid. You've heard about brothers and sisters fighting. These two take it to another level.

That's a good reason not to get distracted during an insanely epic fight.

With this arc containing his name, you figure Darkseid is going to do quite a bit. He gets in some pretty good shots.

Now it should be noted that Anti-Monitor did have to deal with Jessica Cruz using Power Ring's ring against them and Darkseid did summon the Black Racer. Darkseid takes advantage of all this.

It might look like Anti-Monitor is out of the fight but he still has a trick up his sleeve.

And, of course, you'll need and want to see the rest for yourself in its entirety.

INFERNO #5

(By Dennis Hopeless, Javier Garron, and Chris Sotomayor)

Illyana Rasputin has been infected by the darkness of Inferno. What remains of the X-Men find themselves having to team up with Mister Sinister and his Boom Boom clone army as well as Madelyne Pryor. If you think about it, that's a pretty explosive combination.

Madelyne bides her time as long as she can until finally she makes her move to attack Sinister.

She's stopped but uses her telepathy on Boom Boom.

That might take care of Sinister but his army won't be too happy.

Moments later, Ilyana arrives. Can Colossus fight her with the Soulsword?

They go at it for a bit but Illyana keeps playing mind games with Piotr.

That's gonna leave a mark.

She keeps messing with his head and even appears to start pulling out some of his guts. But then...

The cool thing is, the story isn't even over yet.

GREEN LANTERN ANNUAL #4

(By Robert Venditti, Pascal Alixe, Martin Coccolo, Tony Avina, Pete Pantazis, and Hi-Fi)

Hal Jordan is still on the run from the rest of the Green Lantern Corps. They get him cornered and try blasting him

They might not have realized what they were up against since he took Krona's gauntlet.

Hal makes a giant construct of...himself and proceeds to attack.

The Lanterns have created a protective dome for themselves. Will it be enough?

Now this is usually where I cut to the next thing and leave you hanging. I suppose it won't hurt to give you just a tiny bit more so you can see the after effects of Hal's attack.

Don't worry. They're not dead. They're not finished fighting either.

But we are finished with this segment.
