Awesome Toy Picks: Godzilla Movie Products

Some stuff Godzilla fans will want to add to their collection.

Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. With Godzilla in theaters this weekend, it was the best time to look at a bunch of Godzilla product we received.

A little while ago we received a big and interesting-looking box.

Obviously the side with the big old warning and mention of "radioactive protocols" could be a little concerning. But because of the mention of it being a survival kit, we assumed (and hoped) it would be safe to open.

The first thing we saw inside was a t-shirt.

This shirt is from KINETIX. I have to admit, I've never heard of this brand. I do have to say it's a crazy-comfortable shirt. It's one of those shirts that is really soft to the touch. I didn't notice it at first but it's pretty cool how his name is actually spelled out on his back instead of his scales.

The shirt is available exclusively at Kitson. Unfortunately, it's selling for $58.00. That tells you how comfortable it is. Plus whatever mark up they decided to add. I did wear it for this week's Best Stuff In Comics video. I didn't realize how pricey of a shirt it was.

The next item was a "Smash Strike" Godzilla figure.

This is from Bandai and part of a Movie Fighting Figures line. You can choose from either a "Tail Strike" figure with a swinging tail (that you make happen through a chest control) or this "Smash Strike" figure. The Smash Strike figure is operated through an upper-tail control lever.

You've likely seen this one in stores. It should retail for about $14.99.

There was also a Snickers bar.

Yes, this survival kit also included a Snickers bar. The reason is because they's some licensing/advertising deal between the candy company and studio. Did you ever see that Godzilla commercial?

Should I eat it or save it case Godzilla comes to town and is hungry?

Speaking of survival, there was an actual survival tin.

You get all of this stuff in a sardine can. I haven't actually opened this yet. It seems it should be something you save for an actual emergency. It is kind of interesting that a Tootsie Roll and stick of Big Red gum is included. But I guess you never really know what you'll need when a big emergency comes along.

Another cool thing inside was a Godzilla flashlight.

It's a regular flashlight but when you add the cone on, it makes it more of a signal light.

The last thing was a Bandai Movie Figure 2-Pack.

These definitely have the cute-factor. There's a couple different ones. They retail for $6.99. They're nice and small so you can easily display them on your desk or wherever.

There are other Godzilla products available. You've probably seen a bunch already. Bandai also has an Atomic Roar figure that retails for $34.99. There's a "Pack of Destruction" set that comes with a figure, a destructible building, and a military aircraft for $8.99. If you want a big Godzilla figure, there's a 43" "Massive Godzilla Figure" from Jakks Pacific. It has 12 points of articulation, a swinging tail, and is available at Toys R Us for $44.95. You'll also find adult and children costumes from Rubies as well as a costume hoodie.

There is likely much much more Godzilla merch you can find.

Have you watched the movie yet? You can check out movie review HERE. This coming Wednesday, during the second half of the Invincibly Super Massive Comic Book Podcast of Stuff, we'll have a deep spoiler-filled discussion of the movie.
