Awesome Art Picks: Joker, Wolverine, Iron Man, and More

The coolest comic book art you won't see in comics.

Each week we search for the best comic book art that you won't see in actual comics. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their websites, blogs, and Tumblrs. Some artists also prearrange commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out.

J. Scott Campbell posted some new sketches on his Tumblr.

Well, I am glad that Booth's Captain Atom redesign is not the one used in comics. Good stuff otherwise.

Man do we have similar tastes or what? Those were the ones that caught my interest too! Seriously, Philip Tan never ceases to amaze. And I always loves me some Swamp Thing! (I hate his book got cancelled...)

I do love that Stargirl picture, however, I feel the nipples are a bit excessive.

How old is Stargirl? Is it really appropriate to be drawing her like that?

She's a teenager IIRC. I don't know her exact age.

Want to say something here but I will seem like a dinosaur if I do.

I will refrain and say I am enamored with P. Tan's art and Brett Booth's Captain Atom. Freddie E. Williams' Nite-Owl is great.

I can't believe Tom Raney knocked out such details on such small pages, very impressive. Rod Reis' Swamp Thing is beautiful.

Are those sketch cards Mike Henderson did? Regardless, each piece is superb, but if they are sketch cards, again, great job on such color and detail from another artist.

I like Philip Tan's art generally but that picture of Stargirl is straight up creepy. She is a minor who is inspired by Geoff Johns' dead sister. It just irks me. I'm not sure why he draws all of his ladies like they are wearing painted on costumes. It always seems really pervy.

She's 17, not far from her 18th birthday.

That said, Freddie Williams brought back the 80's like a BAUS!

Philip Tan does it again. Someone get him a pacifier already. Stick with silicone to make it last longer.

Henderson did a wonderful job with the Asgardians, I love all of them.

Not a coincidence!

There is just no way Wada didn't use Gandy as a reference. No freaking way. I approve, since he easily beats out Robert Downey Jr. in the looks department, in my humble opinion.

The Gwyneth Paltrow effect on Pepper is undeniable, too.

(sigh) David Gandy....

Ikr, he's got a tiny subtle speech impediment or something and he's a tad timid which makes him even more irresistibly caliente.

J. Scott Campbell, Todd Nauck, Francesco Francavilla, Freddie E. Williams Although he needs to learn to draw feet.), Brett Booth (Although he's left all the work to his colourist) and Mike McKone's stuff were standouts for me,

Philip Tan's Kang stood out the most for me though.

A bit like Stargirl's nips.
