Andy Serkis's Role Revealed for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Serkis will play another mo-capped character in the newest Star Wars film.

Andy Serkis, the actor responsible for giving theater-goers memorable performances like Caesar in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Gollum in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films will be in the mo-cap seat, once again for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Revealed on StarWars.com, photographer Annie Leibovitz took some photos of the set and this previously unreleased picture of Serkis surfaced. It was revealed that Serkis would be playing Supreme Leader Snoke in the upcoming film.

At this time, this is all we know about Serkis's role in the film, but we'll keep you updated as more develops. Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens will open on December 18, 2015.
