It's probably safe to say that everyone reading comics would love to see themselves in or mentioned in one. Andy Diggle andy Dynamite Entertainment is teaming up with CBLDF to help make that happen.

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is running an eBay auction from now until May 15. The winning bidder will be named as a character in Diggle's UNCANNY #2, due in July.

Along with having your named immortalized in the comic, you'll also get a set of all covers from the issue as well as a thank note from Diggle himself. All proceeds from the auction will benefit CBLDF's work to protect the Freedom to Read.

Here's what Diggle had to say:

The CBLDF carries out vital work defending the First Amendment rights of comic book readers, retailers and publishers. I’m proud to be able to play some small part in this special benefit auction which will help raise awareness of freedom of speech issues in the comics medium and defend our Freedom to Read.

UNCANNY is a new crime comic with the type of gritty action that Diggle is known for. The lead character is Weaver, who was born with an uncanny ability, he can steal other people's skills (memories, abilities, expertise) for a limited time. He could use that power to change the world but prefers to live as a professional gambler, con-man and thief-for-hire. He soon finds himself drawn into a more series game where the rules keep changing and his life is now on the line. He also finds out he might not be as unique as he thought he was. The covers will be by Jock and Sean Phillips. The interior art is by Aaron Campbell.

Time is winding down. Check out the auction HERE and bid if you can and want to be immortalized in a comic. It's for a great cause.
