Arides is the result of a Kree project for the creation of super-soldiers. Born to scientists Falzon (father) and Murius (mother), Arides was trained since infancy by the Supreme Intelligence. He was subject to treatment with photo-masons for twenty years, granting him energy powers. His green beam could paralyze enemies, his red beam produced great amounts of heat and his yellow beam was used for concussive effects.
Arides is a Marvel comics character created by Doug Moench and George Perez. The character first appearing in Inhumans #3 released in 1976.
Major Story Arcs
His first mission was to capture his parents who were attempting to flee Hala, disillusioned with the treatment of their son by the military. He captured his father and killed his mother.
He was later sent on Earth to capture the Inhumans to acquire their services for the Kree military. He was outfited with a battle armor and a jet pack. His wrist bands helped him focus his energy beams. In subsequent battles Arides was presumed kiled when Triton deflected his beams back at him. While the beams did end his existance as a being of flesh and blood, Arides was not dead. He emerged much later as an energy being. He could project heat, light and concussive force at will. He could fly at the speed of light. Energy attacks could harm him as they disrupted his control over his own energies. Initially he wanted to continue with his original mission but when realizing that he was no longer conventionally alive, Arides departed for Hala. He hoped that someone would give him answers concerning his new state of being.
Powers and Abilities
Arides possesses superhuman levels of strength, speed, stamina, durability and energy projection. Skilled and proficient in multiple martial arts Arides is a formidable hand to hand fighter. Arides also possesses the ability to generate and project light, heat and concussive force to powerful levels and effect. In his humanoid form Arides would utilize an armor and jet pack to fly and to channel his powers. In his energy form, neither of these were required, although Arides would use a headband to help maintain stability and physical cohesion.
