This guy's art style is absolutely gorgeous. I'm surprised DC were able to get Sjeic on board. I'm familiar with some of his DC fan art sketches but he's also worked on Aphrodite IX and The Darkness correct?

@lvenger: Yeah, and he's a ridiculously fast artist as well which is unusual for art so detailed. Yep, he's done most of his work at Top Cow and Image and I'm surprised it took this long for either DC or Marvel to nab him. Maybe they weren't sure his art would play for the mainstream?

@jonny_anonymous: Again I'm surprised to hear that, that art style of his looks very detailed yet you say he can work it fast as well. I really don't know how his art wouldn't appeal to the mainstream, his faces are spot on, his action sequences are amazingly rendered and the colours are really rich. Also I know one way to give your thread more traffic.

@ecstaticgrace One of the pictures from the new artist for Aquaman has lightning on the trident. An indication that Aquaman's elemental abilities might be coming back.

@ecstaticgrace: I actually like Cullen Bunn's run, the only reason I think it suffers is because there was no build to it and people baulked at the whiplash change (which Bunn agrees with) and that was kinda magnified by DCYou shift as a whole.

@ecstaticgrace: Agreed on all. Although I thought it would have been pretty cool if they had leaned more into Roman mythology rather than Greek, I always liked that distinction between the Atlanteans and the Amazons. They could have even made it clear that Neptune and the Poseidon seen in Wonder Woman were the same gods just different aspects due to how they are worshipped.

@ecstaticgrace: It's hard to tell from here, maybe Neptune or Orin, Arthur's name-sake

    This looks good.

Aquaman looks good, Mera looks good, Atlantis looks amazing.

Black Manta looks good, apart from the helmet. It needs to have 2 eyes, not some knock-off Cyclops / Cylon line.

And Orm needs to stick with the New 52 design.

He seems good with facial expressions.

Jury is still out, until we see how he handles the speed and movement of the characters and the fight scenes and how he fits with the colorist, but overall I'm excited, definitely a step up from the previous art team (which was good, but not great and somewhat incosistent)

@jonny_anonymous: Pretty good. His background architecture for Atlantis was fantastic but his character drawing is his main strength. Those close up panels were so detailed.

It was really good, both the story and the art. A little bummed that Aquaman has become monthly.
