Finally!
I was getting annoyed with this arc because I absolutely HATE how they treat Aquaman in comics & I hate how he accepts it. They don't address him as King or anything like that & they utterly disrespect he & Mera's royalty & dominion. He doesn't receive any sort of diplomatic immunity & is constantly treated like some sort of terrorist even though he's saved the freggin' world dozens of times alongside the Justice League! I love how this issue completely addresses that fact in him finally having enough & attacking Superman. With the previous issue he & Mera finally cut loose & decimated the U.S forces attempting to stop them so of course POTUS calls in the countries b-word old Superman. Everyone around thought "Ok Superman is here so Aquaman & Mera will be stopped." HA! Yea right. Aquaman tried to explain the situation to Superman & Supes did try to listen but POTUS started yelling for Supes to "take down those weirdos with prejudice" & the Atlantean Army of course heard this & rallied the army. Supes then in turn said "I can't let you go." & Aquaman did what I've been begging him to do since New 52...he punched the shit out of him while yelling, "I AM A KING!" he'd finally had enough & it was glorious. Now we all know that Aquaman can't beat up Superman in a head to head (outside of water) but what the fight showed (even tho both were holding back) was that 1) Aquaman is more then capable of going toe to toe with him 2) he has been giving the humans a lot of slack because he could have been doing some real damage if he wanted 3) he isn't some weakling like Americans presume. Mera shocked the world even more when she jumped into the fight to help Aquaman! The entire time they battle Aquaman & Supes talk to each other with Aquaman trying to get Superman to understand that he is the King of a nation & can't be seen as needing help from outsiders to secure his kingdom, something nobody ever seems to grasp. In the end the Atlantean Army arrives in full force scaring the shit out of everyone there but Aquaman tells them to stand down & then leaves but not before Superman tells him "Handle this or else" ....a threat not taken lightly by the King of more then half of Earth. I REALLY loved this issue.
