Lives in a lighthouse
The overall high standard of the first issue is maintained here. Of course it might be too early in the series to make a lot of judgments, but a lot of issues with the character that I have had are being dealt with here (his overbearing royal side, his infidelity towards Mera). While the character is being portrayed in a much less anti-hero form, the action is still dark enough with a group of sea dwellers discovering that humans make a fine meal. Again the somewhat dim-witted reaction of regular people to Aquaman is sort of a joke-within-a-joke for the reader, many of whom are misinformed and think the same things (orange shirt or Aquawoman.) The best part here for me though is that neither Arthur nor Mera are being portrayed as pushovers, instead really strong characterizations and really strong action within this issue.
