    Redemption and Introductions

*This my first review ever here, so any tips, comments, and suggestions are more than welcome.*

The moment I stepped upon the cinema I didn't expect anything except what I've read: that it was a fun, independent, and overall great film. For me, it hit all notes.

The flow of the story started slow, introducing Scott Lang, his life, struggles, and his very adorable daughter, Cassie, and that was fine. Sometimes we need to see what makes the protagonist human, how we could relate to him in our ways in life. I appreciated that they took it spot on. What a hard life it is for Lang.

Enter the Pyms. Hank was a great mentor, and his expertise was well shown. Hope, on the other hand, was kinda irritating at first, but that was justified later on. Overall they were a solid support, providing encouragement to Lang. Also, it was cool that they had tech to rival Stark's but kept to themselves, never gaining public acclaim.

How about Lang's "crew"? They were fun, and not in the forced way. They kept the movie going lightheartedly. And Luis' dialogue was one of the highlights, it was pulled off perfectly! XD

    (Spoilers next paragraph!)

But then Marvel does it again. The villain dies! Cross was a generic villain, little backstory, little to no development, but at least wasn't as ridiculous as some alien not so long ago. As far as I see it, he was a good villain, too bad he'll never get to challenge Lang again.

Now on to the shrinking: IT WAS AWESOME! Seeing those ants and the big world perspective opened an appreciation for ants. Anyways, the special effects held, they were clean and melded into the scenes as a whole. (That quantum world thing was very much surreal dude.) The fight scenes were also great, from goons to poor Sam Wilson being humiliated (oops) they really knew how to show Ant-Man's ability off.

So that's it folks, I know I'll see Ant-Man in future films, kicking butts and saving the world, but for now, I'm content with this small corner of the MCU. (Anthony! T_T)

P.S. Oh, did I mention my tears welled up from watching this?

Directed by Peyton Reed Produced by Kevin Feige Screenplay by Edgar Wright Joe Cornish Adam McKay Paul Rudd Story by Edgar Wright Joe Cornish When Edgar Wright left his long gestating Ant-Man film weeks before principle production was going to begin, I was perhaps a little angry at Marvel for not letting Wright do what he wanted. Wright easily would’ve been the only other director next to Iron Man 3 director Shane Black to put a clear directorial stamp on an MCU film. When Peyton Reed was b...

Ant-Man, the final instalment of Marvel Cinematic Universe 2nd Phase is definitely one to not miss. Young childhood memories of 'Antz', 'A Bug's Life' and 'The Ant Bully' are once again brought back to theatres diving not only into the exploration of a crafty man's road to redemption and sacrifice but into a wonderful world of awe-inspiring science for a whole range of audiences. Amazing special effects, well-timed well-executed humor and a formidable menacing villain the likes we have never see...
