During free elections in the Negative Zone after Annihilus was capture and enslaved by the Human Torch. It was revealed that 14,980,336,901,214 beings in the Negative Zone supported Annihilus’ rule and thus allow him to rule the Negative Zone yet again.

However; Annihilus has shown at times of being able to live without the Cosmic Control Rod for long periods of time. This may be due to Annihilus being reborn multiple times in the comics. So it’s unknown if Annihilus still has this weakness or not, but if the Cosmic Control Rod is taken away, he will lose its powers.
As Nova pointed out during their fight at the climax of the Annihilation event, Annihilus’ only real weak spot is his mouth as Nova was able to put his whole fist down his throat and ripped out his internal organs.
Although, Annihilus is highly familiar with the advanced technologies of the Tynnans, particularly in the areas of advanced weaponry and the genetic engineering technology that they had at their disposal; Annihilus’ intelligence is only slightly above average when compared to normal human intelligence and since Annihilus lacks imagination, he tends to use the Tyannans technology to create life with only insectivorids characteristics.
Equipment
Annihilus wears some living armored components over his insectoid exoskeleton which is made up of a matter/anti-matter alloy which gives Annihilus greater protection from both physical based attacks and energy based attacks and is so strong that at one point, the Thing had actually hurt his hand from just punching Annihilus’ armor, along with some other armaments that can also fire powerful plasma energy bolts and create a personal force field. Teleportation: Annihilus has used the Cosmic Control Rod on at more than one occasion in the past in order to teleport himself and any other additional mass allowing him to travel and cover over vast distances within much less time.
Genetic Engineering Technology: Using techniques of the Tyannans, Annihilus can create life forms with specific characteristics, such as the Borers. However, since Annihilus lacks imagination, he tends to concentrate on insectivorids. Upon physical death, Annihilus spawns immature clones of himself each that retains his full memories. Annihilus uses a form of worms-healers that can stitch up entire bodies and heal others even after their body has been dead for hours or possibly a day which were used to bring the Human Torch back to life. Annihilus has also used administered parasites that can allow Annihilus to control others against their will which were used during the Annihilation event which could control beings such as the human psionic; Moondragon, Paibok, the Power-Skrull, Terrax the Tamer, among others.
Various Tyannans Technology: Annihilus has access to the highly advanced technology of the Tyannans, and possesses other secondary weapons and vehicles which he created by cannibalizing the Tyannans starships. These include energy based weapons and flying tank like attack vessels.
Formerly the Quantum Bands: In Annihilation: Nova, Annihilus killed Quasar, and gained his Quantum Bands, adding to Annihilus' power. By using these in combination with most of his stores power reserves; Annihilus was able to withstand a massive energy blast from Galactus himself in the Annihilation story. While the blast destroyed his entire army, along with several solar systems, Annihilus was able to survive and it was also stated by Nova’s helmet “Worldmind” that Annihilus fundamentally outclassed Nova on every level even thou he had the whole Nova force at his disposal. They were however taken by Phyla at the climax of the war.
Transportation
During his alliance with Blastaar, Annihilus had a ship called the “flying fortress”. It was green, had wings like Annihilus's own, and fired purple beams of energy.
Annihilus has had access to many other types of ships flying tanks while traveling since with its exoskeleton equipped with various kinds of weapons including projectors that discharges plasma.
Winged Spaceship: A cruiser, which Annihilus used when he first encountered the Fantastic Four and when he came to Asgard. On each side of it were small wings.
Annihilation Wave: A large fleet of various ships of the class dreadnought to small spaceships. In the interaction of a large almost countless number of ships. The wave was able to destroy even entire planets due to how much force of power the army had at the time during the Annihilation event. At the height of its power, the Annihilation Wave was able to destroy the Kyln, which was a ring of artificial moons, the planet Xandar along with the entire Nova Corps leaving Richard Rider as the only survivor, had nearly destroyed both the Kree and the Skrull empires including the Skrull home world Skrullos along with many others. It was said that the Annihilation Wave proved itself as the largest fighting force the galaxy had ever seen and was stated to be a cosmic level threat as even thou it had been years since the Annihilation event, the Galactic Council were still worried about the wave even thou Annihilus was one of the members of the Galactic Council. Gladiator has even stated that the first Annihilation Wave was almost the end of them.
Annihilus is capable of flying and traveling under the use of his own power with or without the Cosmic Control Rod and Annihilus has used the Cosmic Control Rod in the past in order to teleport himself allowing him to travel and cover over vast distances within much less time.
Weapons
The Cosmic Control Rod Battle Axe: After the Annihilation wave story where Annihilus died at the end and lost the Cosmic Control Rod upon his death. When Annihilus came back to life, Annihilus regained the Cosmic Control Rod. However instead of wearing it around his neck like in the past, Annihilus put it on the end of a two handed battle axe.
Annihilus also sometimes wields secondary weapons and vehicles, such as energy pistols based on Tyannan technology that he has modified and flying tank like gun ships, adapted from the Tyannan starship.
