Angela St Grace is a fictional character created by writer Robert Rodi and artist Louis Small Jr. She was created to be the protagonist and star of the Vertigo published series Codename: Knockout which was released in June 2001 and ran for twenty four issues. The characters first appearance was in Codename: Knockout #0 - Fox and Hound. Angela is inspired heavily by Good Girl art but is also subversive of that style in the sense she has personality characteristics more commonly associated with Bad Girl Art. Other inspirations for the series Codename: Knockout and Angela include The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Charlie's Angels.
Codename: Knockout is also notable for being considered Vertigo's first Bad Girl inspired series.
Angela St Grace in the tradition of sexy, sultry and seductive spies combined Good Girl arts aesthetics of attractive young woman in revealing, provocative or seductive clothing in improbable situations with Bad Girl arts aesthetics of tough, strong characterization. Her character arc involves much turmoil as far as character interaction.
