"You will not be forgotten"
Here it begins. Season Nine becomes a banner that two titles fall under. I'm beginning to like that idea a lot. I'm also quite glad that the way this title and Buffy is shipping gives us a book every two weeks. I love the idea of getting a book every two weeks for two years and fifty issues.
Let me start with the art. I thought Jeanty's art was amazing and looked just like the actors but after seeing this I'm blown away. And I'm sure Urru is a great guy but I hated After the Fall's art. So Rebekah Issacs has me sold on the art alone.
Now to the story. We have Christos Gage writing. Some might have been turned off by it not being Whedon himself but TV shows always have different writers and as long as I see Whedon as executive producer I'm good to go. I loved how this started with Giles. I hope we see more of him and other watchers as we go as well as more people from Faith and Angel's past. This issue introduces us to new characters from their past and an old familiar face.
I am really excited for this series and this could easily become the frontrunner between this and Buffy SN 9. I think even those turned off by Buffy SN 8 will enjoy this series.
Pick it up! You won't be disappointed.
