This is a great book that was well worth the price of admission.  Oh, and it's not  because I grew up on a steady diet of Stephen King novels but because Scott Snyder tells a fantastic opening act that holds up against Stephen King.  Albuquerque's art is strong and fits the book perfectly.  He amazingly shows the ability to change from the first chapter to the second chapter.  Giving both stories a unique look.

Scott's story telling developed Pearl quickly. I already care about Pearl and knew she was being fed to the wolf(s) when Hamilton told her that the producer but that changed when l I saw the leering teeth filled looks of the men in the room.  Skinner Sweet's appearance, which ties the two stories together, implied he was aware of the coming fate for our Pearl.  He kind of reminded me of Sawyer from Lost. Thats not a bad thing he is one of my favorite parts of Lost.  I loved to route for and against him at the same time.  On to the second story that was spun by the fantastically talented Stephen King.  His story is action packed and exciting.  In his short few pages we are given the who, the what, and the why of Skinner Sweet!  As an opening issue that sets the stage this is out of this world good.  Go get this issue and see the next Vertigo hit.
