    “THE AMBUSH BUG HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE!” It’s a Bug-eyed view of DC’s heroes and villains of yesteryear, from Egg Fu to Mopee! Lots of yucks and laughs!

    This book starts off brilliantly. Discussing the lost characters of Earths past in the DCU. Actually, these little vignettes are spread through out the book, as it ends up being a series of one page gags.

    And at the end of the book, we are promised a showdown with Darkseid.

    If there can be said to be an actual formula for this not so serious series, this issue jumps off of it significantly.  Here the issue exists as a sequence of mostly non sequitur vignettes with little structure or continuity between them.  There are some good moments, I did enjoy the lampooning of a particularly bad era of Wonder Woman (with Egg-Fu, Wonder Tot and the Glop) but there was just so much to try to assimilate here, and it didn't help that only about a half of the jokes were funny whi...
