    Origin

    Amber Grant was a young 'no-nonsese' woman whom lived in New York City with her roomate, Ruth Hart. Amber was a photographer for the Daily Buge. Despite both of their incomes, the roommates had an appartement in one of the less pleasant neighbourhoods in New York City.

    Creation

    Amber Grant was created by Steve Gerber, Mary Skrenes and Jim Mooney and first appeared in Omega the Unknown Vol.1 issue 1 (1976).

    Meeting James-Michael Starling

    When Amber heard that her roommate Ruth had volunteerd to take in a young boy from the hospital, she was at first very relunctand. Amber however soon took a liking to the young boy and took him out to see the city, also wisecracking and learning him about the facts of living in the mean streets of New York City. It however soon became apparent that Jame-Michael had a strange conncetion to a mysterious superhero named Omega the Unknown. Because of this, Amber, Ruth and the boy found themeselves in strange and sometimes dangerous situations. After the seeming death of Omega the Unknown, Amber and Ruth encountered the superhero team known as the Defenders and joined them for some time, but they have not been seen since.
