Mystique, I'm Hoooooooooome!!!
This being Jason Aaron's farewell (honestly, I thought he was already gone), this issue had some expectation hanging on its shoulders in terms of what it would be and what it would set up for in terms of a future for the series. And it did not disappoint.
This issue is a lot of fun, and dances on the fine line between the serious stuff and what makes this series such a blast to read. The dialogue is well crafted and feels natural, with some suitable wit to it, the art, though not McGuiness, is still great, and the tone and direction is spot on. A scenario that could have been trite was actually a lot of fun to explore, and brought some interesting developments to the forefront. This was a great end to Aaron's take on the series, much more satisfying than the previous issue, and considering my thoughts on the new Nightcrawler series, I really hope this series keeps up the great stuff it's doing.
