Plot
Not gonna waste mush time on the plot,since it’s a graphic novel.
So,Peter finds himself abducted by a group of people,for reasons unknown to him.He manages to escape,but as he falls,he ends up in a car.The cars’ driver is a woman,who claims being Peter’s sister.Here begins their magic journey through the streets of Monaco,Cairo, and also the book contains momments in Tunisia!(talk about a change of scenery…)
Thoughts
This is exquisite. This book was so good, when I finished it, I starred at the wall for 5 minutes, just processing what I just read.
This is a novel you’re gonna read again…and again…and again.There aren’t much bad stuff to talk about here!!...so let’s start with the good stuff.
Spider-Man is Peter Parker,full in-character.Awesome as always.
The Kingpin who’s the main antagonist,is excellently written,and I really liked that I was afraid of the guy,once again.
Teresa is a wonderful,lovable,perfect character.
At the end we find out that Fisk used Mentallo to control Peter and Teresa’s thoughts,so he can manipulate them,and bring them to a mystique champer,so Peter can use his DNA to open a “door” full of gold.His DNA is required ,because the door was sealed by his father,Richard Parker.As I was saying,Mentallo implements the idea that they are siblings(Pete and Teresa) but we find that they’re,indeed,not.That’s very disappointing,concidering the fact that you have fallen in love with the character,for 50 pages or so.
By the way,in this short time,she found out that Peter is Spider-Man.
BUT,in the middle of their journey,they payed a visit to a guy,who said was the Mission Controller to their parents,and they drank tea in his house/masion/castle.He then took Teresa’s cup(when they left) and DNA tested it,like a normal spy would do.He left us with a puzzling smile,while saying “What do we make of that?” while a series of flashback panles showed us that Mary Parker were admitting being pregrant ,to Richard.
Turns out Peter has a sister after all….(!!)
Seing Spider-Man pop out in Cairo and Monaco is truly amazing!!.....and I mean literally.Not Peter Parker.Spider-man.The book isn’t limited by NYC.And it turned out excellent and fun.
Now you all understood I liked this book, preety damn much….let’s talk about what bugged me a tad.
Some obvious continuity error bits,were there.
The sure thing is that it takes place before the Superior Spiderfest.Peter mentions a “Possitive cash flow” and I can’t imagine him meaning anything but Horizon Labs.And as we know,Horizon Labs is demolished,courtecy of your friendly neighborhood Octopus.BUT,three months from then,Kingpin was in a jail,in Tunisia.That was new to me.I thought he was operating in Hell’s Kitchen like a normal Kingpin would do, but look at that.
These are the only errors I managed to find.Seriously.
Art is mind boggling.
Dell’Otto,one of my all time favorite artists,is knocking it out of the par—WORLD!!
He’s PERFECT!!
The colouring does the job too.It’s painted.Not computed coloured.And it looks absolutely stunning.
Gorgeous art,and a spondificous story.What more can a Spidey geek ask?...
