The year was 1951 and as super hero comics continued to decline in popularity, many of them mutated into Western, Crime and horror titles. The Super Hero title All-Star Comics being a prime example, as it was re-named All-Star Western from issue #58. All-Star Western ran for 10 years as a bi-monthly title and featured characters like the Trigger Twins, Johnny Thunder and Madame .44. After a hiatus in the 60's, the title (All-Star Western) would return for an 11 issue run from 1970-72, during which DC introduced the tormented character of Jonah Hex.
