The Darkness and the Ghost 1

Recommended!Both stories in this issue of All Star Western delivered suspense, drama, action and violence, the likes of which we have come to expect out of this series. We see both character development and devolution as each deals with increased hardship. I believe this book will leave you both satisfied with regards to plot progression and a desire to pick up its next installment. We pick up where we left off, with Hex and Arkham battling the Gotham underground.The action gets off to a fast start as Hex attempts to fight his and Arkham's way to safety, and we get the usual play-by-play through Arkham's point of view, which observations have become one of the more enjoyable staples of this series.The writing here is solid, doing a good job of carrying through sequences with a fluidity that makes it seem as if the reader is experiencing Arkham's thoughts in the context of w...

Jonah Hex vs. Wild 0

Something I haven't talked about much when reviewing this series, but should not go unappreciated, is the wide variety of accents portrayed. Different classes of people have different slang or shortenings. Lots of extra apostrophes and shortened words really bring the dialogue to life, especially when Jonah Hex, Amadeus Arkham, and some big thug are all having one conversation.
