    1. THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED: (JSA) the utopian 31st century Earth is plagued by a race called Chamealions who came to earth as spores and grew into goblin-looking creatures that can impersonate anyone for up to twenty-four hours. having no police force and little experience dealing with crime, the government is at a loss on how to deal with this threat. it is suggested that they bring the Justice Society from the twentieth century to aid them but the means of time travel they have wipes all memory about the future and changes anything you take with you to fit the period, preventing travelers from sharing any knowledge of the future.

a historian named Professor Ellery gets the idea to write notes to himself and the JSA using clippings from a book that dates back to that time and it works. following the notes, he and another traveler commit a crime to get their attention but the other traveler turns out to be a chameleon who turns into a cop while the JSA isn't looking and tells them Ellery is known for making up crazy stories and the other one who disappeared is an escape artist. they let the cop take Ellery but follow them to a strange bus and grab onto it as it disappears into an odd cloud and they are pulled into the future with it.

there Ellery gets off the bus seeming happy his plan worked and explaining the other was Knelo, chief of the chameleons who must have changed again to get away. he then tells the JSA he will lead them to a secret chamber where their leaders are meeting but a thought bubble from him reads "hee hee!"

    2. THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED part 2: (JSA) Ellery leads the JSA to a storehouse for rejected robots saying the leaders will be there soon and leaving them to wait. he then reports to Knelo, changing to his true chameleon form, who muses about how those robots were rejected because they were homicidal as remotely activates them. the robots attack our heroes, who defeat them without too much trouble before breaking out of the room and following a tunnel straight to the chameleon's headquarters. there they find detailed drawings of three important people, Mayor Hoving, Army General Cadwell, and C. F. Tanner, owner of Space-Ships INC. they surmise these men to be targets of the chameleons so they split up to stop them.

Flash and Wonder Woman go to city hall to check on the mayor who before they arrive tells his guards that if he holds his cane up with the handle facing him that is a signal he is the real mayor (an idea that should have been thought of sooner and not trusted for at least 24 hours). as Flash and Wonder Woman arrive the mayor has his safe open and is musing about how if the chameleons got their hands on it they could issue decrees and cause lots of confusion. wonder woman asks how they know he isn't a chameleon trying to steal it. the guards come in, not knowing who the heroes are, and getting the signal from the mayor they try to fight the intruders. they are quickly restrained by Wonder Woman's lasso (which she could have used to force the mayor to reveal himself) but it was enough of a distraction for the supposed mayor to escape with the seal.

    3. THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED part 3: (JSA) in an army special weapons lab 2 scientists have just completed work on the most powerful bomb they are capable of making on the orders of General Cadwell but it is far stronger than they expected and they estimate that if it was set off it would destroy the entire earth. they also can't dismantle it for fear trying will set it off. the general decides they will hide the bomb so the 3 leave in an aircar but they are intercepted by Green Lantern and the Atom. as with the other 2 our heroes are quickly set upon by guards who are no real challenge but enough of a distraction for the general to get away. this time the heroes are able to follow their quarry and soon find the scientists tied up in the aircar, the general having disappeared with the bomb.

meanwhile, Hawkman, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Black Canary seek Tanner at his industrial sight, and when they are told he won't see him they start searching the complex. they find him about to test his newest ship but like the others, they are attacked by guards and the fake Tanner gets away with the ship.

    4. THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED part 4: (JSA) in a hidden chamber Knelo sends one of his minions to deliver a proclamation to the humans using the stollen seal. if they don't surrender unconditionally by sundown they will use the bomb to destroy the earth while they escape on the stolen ship.

the 3 who were impersonated meet at city hall confirming the threat is real and as the deadline grows near they contemplate surrender but Black Canary arrives and tells them not to because the JSA has found the secret cave of the chameleons and is about to attack it.

the mayor, the general, and the industrialist walk into the cave talking about how they fooled the humans and are greeted by the chameleons but when they are told to assume their own shapes they pull off masks revealing themselves to be Green Lantern, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Flash. a fight ensues and GL secures the bomb with his ring while Knelo tries to escape threw hidden doors in the back of the cave. a Robot comes from the doors and fights the team before they capture all the chameleons, who are put on the ship and blasted away from earth with the controls locked.

returning to their own time the JSA forgets everything that happened in the future but Wonder Woman is holding a not made from clippings that reads "Justice Society, in behalf of the 31st century, I extend our eternal gratitude! Professor Ellery."
