Wellington Frick, a playboy on his last financial legs, leads a team of scavengers to investigate an unexplored pyramid on a distant world that promises a king's ransom in riches—including priceless Alien eggs. Bringing along only a synthetic, a videographer, and the only man ever to survive a chestburster, Frick soon discovers that the pyramid has indeed been visited before, but the explorers never left. And dead explorers and breached Alien eggs mean that the team's quest for fame and fortune has become a fight for survival.
