razzatazz's Alien Worlds #5 review

    What's for supper?

The anthology format sometimes works for series like this and sometimes not. In this case it contains a sequence of stories completely unrelated not only in plot (which makes sense) but also in content. In terms of quality too it can be hard to get through perhaps, especially as in this case that the best stories in this one are at the back as opposed to the front (save for a short story with no word that was pretty good.) The anthology format thus makes one almost want to put this individual issue down before getting to the better parts (the stories themselves are kind of abstract, to explain the settings would act as too much of a giveaway.) A decent enough issue though, especially for those that like science fiction with a touch of the unknown.
