Trent's mother became a member of the Aryan Brotherhood, a white supremacist organization where she met her husband (Trent's father), who was sheriff of the town of Melonville. She allowed herself to be experimented upon while pregnant with Alex, as part of an attempt to make a superior breed of white men. This experimentation involved the murder of over a dozen innocent African-American's. She was arrested (along with the rest of the Brotherhood involved in the murders) thanks to the efforts of a young Perry White and Franklin Stern. Alex's father was killed while trying to stop White and Stern from revealing what they had learned.

    Life as Bloodsport

Trent's life after his father's death and before becoming Bl;oodsport are largely mysteries. We do know he has a son who is uninterested in following his father into the Aryan Brotherhood. Trent's frustration grew mainly due to how his son "idolized a basketball star more than him", so did his irrational hatred of minorities which had been imbedded into him from a young age. Sometime after the Death and Return of Superman, he was approached by Bloodthirst with an offer to exact vengeance. Bloodthirst used Trent as his instrument to cause chaos in Metropolis. Bloodthirst had the first Bloodsport's teleporter surgically implanted into Trent's chest, (This caused much scarring) allowing him to transport weapons and equipment to him from a fixed location.

Bloodsport then went on a rampage in Hob's Heights, one of the old housing projects in Metropolis's Suicide Slum. His goal was to kill as many blacks, Hispanics, Jews, aliens, and "race traitors" as possible. He managed to murder over thirty people (including women and children) before Superman arrived on scene. In desperation, Bloodsport set fire to a building hoping Superman would be distracted long enough for him to escape; The plan worked exactly as planned.

Using a dual missile launcher with a target tracker, Bloodsport fired two missiles—one aimed at Jimmy Olsen, the other at Ron Troupe, Superman distracted ocne again by the missiles allowed Trent went on a rampage on the streets of Suicide Slum which ended up with him in a shootout with police. It was at this point that Hi-Tech arrived claiming to be sent by Bloodthirst as his back-up.

Rather than be grateful, Bloodsport was enraged when he realized Bloodthirst had given Hi-Tech a teleporter of her own. Trent in his rage attacked Hi-Tech and the two fought each other while Superman battled Hi-Tech's robots. Ron Troupe, injured by Bloodsport, retrieved a fallen weapon and drew down on Trent. This prompted Bloodsport to teleport a bomb to himself and he detonated it, seemingly killing himself in the explosion.

Bloodsport wasn't killed in the explosion as he teleported away. He laid low until after the Fall of Metropolis, when most of the city was destroyed by the insane Lex Luthor. Trent reemerged at this point, renewing his objective to wipe out as many minorities as possible. To that end, he orchestrated a shootout on one of the main bridges out of the city and later fired weapons into one of the more heavily damaged neighborhoods, killing dozens of people. Ron Troupe managed to foil him again, discovering his weapon cache and destroying it, leaving Bloodsport with no more weapons. Superman at last was able to apprehend him.

After being apprehended Trent was thrown in Stryker's Island Prison. Not long after Trent arrived, the original Bloodsport (Robert DuBois) was also transferred there. A boxing match between the 2 was set on the condition Superman referee the bout, Superman accepted. Trent used the match as a means to try and escape the prison, which caused a full blown riot. Trent managed to teleport some weapons' into the facility and armed several groups of prisoners. The boxing match was cancelled but Trent and DuBois still got into an altercation which ended in disaster for Trent who was just outclassed by DuBois. DuBois has Trent at his mercy but couldn't land the killing blow due to the interference of Superman, DuBois was then gunned down by prison guards. Trent was taken into custody but due to being bested by DuBois the Brotherhood ordered his execution and he was burned alive in his cell.
