AJ Lee last edited by kaneundertaker2 on 03/17/19 03:13PM View full history

27-year old April Jeanette Brooks is a female professional wrestler of Puerto Rican descent currently employed by World Wrestling Entertainment as AJ Lee. Previously, she wrestled for Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU), where she held the WSU Tag Team title alongside her then-partner, Brooke Carter (Brittney Savage). Her current in-ring gimmick is that of a loner who cares about the. Divas Championship more than any person. AJ Lee has stated in interviews she is a comic book fan, citing Harley Quinn as pivotal to her in-ring persona. She told interviewer Craig Tello that the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, as well as Spider-Man are among her favorite comics. She is also a video game fan, and the first female winner or the WWE's Superstar Challenge at 2012's Wrestlemania XXVIII Axxess.

Lee is a former 2 time WWE Diva of the Year and Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Woman of the Year for three consecutive years, 2012-2014. She's the only woman in history to win PWI woman of the year 3 consecutive years. Lee has the longest single reign as WWE Diva's champion at 295 days, and the most combined days as champion at 406. After appearing at Wrestlemania XXX, where she defeated 13 other WWE Divas in the Vickie Guerrero Invitational, AJ Lee lost her belt to the debuting Paige the next night on Raw. On the June 30, 2014 episode of Raw, Lee returned and defeated Paige to reclaim her belt. She lost the belt to Paige again, and then won it back a month later.

In her personal life, Mendez was formerly romantically linked to her trainer, Ring of Honor (RoH) wrestler Jay Lethal (more popularly known as Total Nonstop Action's [TNA] Black Machismo). On June 13, 2014, she married fellow WWE roster member, CM Punk. Rumors that Mendez is pregnant with CM Punk's child are erroneous.

In Comics

AJ Lee currently appears in the WWE Superstars comic, written by prolific professional wrestler Mick Foley and published by Super Genius. She appears in the background of the first issue's variant cover with CM Punk in an homage to the classic Jack Kirby cover of Fantastic Four #51 - This Man...This Monster.

Other Media

AJ Lee is also a voice actress in Scooby Doo & The Wrestlemania Mystery (2014).
