Ainet is the priestess of a tribe in Kilimanjaro. She is the reason why Ororo Munroe is the woman that she is today. When Ororo first met Ainet, she was still fresh from her time with Achmed El-Gibar. She lacked true responsibility, humility, and felt (by her own admission) that she had life figured out. She had the mindset of a troubled teen, and a typical thief. However, Ainet still saw something more to her. The priestess took Storm in, and became a second mother to her. Once, when their village was going through a terrible drought, Storm commanded rain for days just to help them. By doing this, she threw off the natural order of nature, and draughts were formed over numerous villages, and hundreds of animals were killed. Sensing the damage she had done, Ainet told Storm of her kind, but ill thought out gesture, and of the damage she caused. Ainet took this opportunity to explain to Ororo how her powers worked with nature, and how she could fix the problem by properly distributing rain. Due to the fact that Ainet herself was a talented magician, she used her own training in mind, body, and soul, to help Storm with the powers thrusted upon her by puberty. Years worth of this type of training, helped Storm to become a powerful weather manipulating mutant, or, as numerous villagers believed (and some still do), a “Goddess”.
Powers and abilities
Little is known about what Ainet can do with her magical abilities. What is known, however, is that she is rather gifted in magic that heavily resembles (and possibly is) voodoo. She also appears to have the power of empathy, as she was able to sense others pain, and a terrible draught that Storm caused in her teen years. Once, in a plea for help, she created a mystic statue that literally called for aid. A statue that Storm immediately recognized as one of her spells.
