    Business is picking up... 2

So I didn't get to see the last two weeks of SHIELD till this past weekend, so I am a bit behind. I did catch tonight's during regular airing though, so without further ado:The title says it all, business is picking up. The "Centipede" organization kidnaps a metahuman in Hong Kong, convincing the young man he is destined for big things with his gift (he's a pyro kinetic). SHIELD has the man under protective watch, and immediately goes into what I dub as "search and snuff" mode. Basically, t...

Everyone Wants To Be Remebered and Know Who They Are 0

I think three episodes in a row means we have a pattern starting to form. “Girl in the Flower Dress” goes along way in shoring up the glaring holes in SHIELD. I’m now far more interested in Skye as a character than I was a week ago. We get a hint of backstory and the ideas that she is on a quest, it is not much but just enough. Chloe Bennet as an actress, I am still far from sold on. But in her defense she was asked to and showed more range in this episode than anything before. Giving Skye a lo...

Enough hints, we get there's something up with Coulson! 0

I don't want to make an in-depth review, I'll get to that when I finally get my review blog in order. I'll just give the main points here. I'm REALLY glad the show is revealing more about Skye now than dragging it until the season finale, as that would have made the show fail bad. This way is MUCH more dramatically smart and satisfying! As of now, there has been at least one hint per episode that something is "different" about Agent Coulson. That is a fail. I KNOW there's something going on, but ...

    A Scorcher of a Case 0

This review was originally posted on my website Imagination Centre (here). This has been a very entertaining series so far, as although not quite to the high level that I expected from Joss Whedon and Marvel, it has had some interesting development so far, and shows a lot of promise for the future, with the characters starting to grow on me even more with each episode.PlotWhen a man named that S.H.I.E.L.D. have been monitoring named Chan Ho Yin (who can produce fire from his hands) is suddenly ki...

Only Television Could Mellow A Marvel Comic This Much 0

In a review in the Hollywood Reporter, Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD writer and artist Jim Steranko called "The Girl in the Flower Dress" a "mellow hour", and I have to agree. While Steranko reserved most of his comments for Clark Gregg's portrayal of Agent Coulson in this episode and throughout the series (who he says is "more milquetoast than macho" and "has the bearing of a funeral director, and one about as dangerous as a Cabbage Patch doll"), sentiments that I can agree with, I'm more concerne...
