    Age of X

    Story arc »

In a world without X-Men, humans attacked the mutant stronghold of Fortress X on a daily basis. Basilisk, Katherine Pryde, Legacy, Magneto & others struggled to uncover the lies surrounding their world; that the residents of Utopia were warped by a new personality created inside Legion's mind.

    Pre-age of X?

Ok so Im not sure if this got covered or not, but how did this whole age of X thing start?

I dont get it at all.  Blindfold runs around freaking out, fights a monster with rouge and all of a sudden boom!  Alternate reality.

Im really liking the alternate reality, but it does seem pretty forced and having nothing to do with the 616 storyline for how it got there.

Oh, well have you read Age of X Alpha? Its somewhat explained in the back I vaguely remember.

Not every story needs to have a set up, beginning, middle and end, especially alt reality stories, in fact it might be fun to have the middle, end and then the beginning? More mystery and fun that way.

I read alpha, but didnt see anything about this reality being created.  Anyone have any idea how it happened?  It seems like blindfold is the only one who knows the reality isnt real.

I mean the reason why it isn't giving us that information yet was explaining by the writer lol ^_^

In fact thats one of the major points of the entire plot, its a question thats definitely suppose to not be easy at this point in time. (I have only read Alpha so far mind you)

My guess is that exactly what Age of X is will be revealed later
    Kinda like diving in headfirst
Throw everything at you and THEN explain why it's there
    Just a guess though

Oh ok I didnt get that.  I was just thought marvel was in such a rush to launch it that they decided not to even do a lead in.  I was like wha?  That was sloppy.

@unicornpuncher: I think Age of X is supposed also affect 616 continuity somehow.

What I want to know is how does Age of X affect X-force?

We are not meant to know the origins of the Age of X. That's the mystery.

Indeed.  The story moves forward, but at the same time more of the background is being revealed.

People like to compare this story to the Age of Apocalypse.  Yet we knew everything in that story.  We knew what went wrong, how it went wrong & why.  This... we still don't know & therefore Legacy must act on the reader's behalf to uncover the mystery :)

I believe this is somewhat of the culmination of the stories that occurred throughout X-Men Legacy prior to the Age Of X " kicking off ".
Its all there if you look close enough actually....;)

    @John Valentine:
    exactly
that's what we're all waiting to find out
of course their world will probably never accept mutants
and there will probably be no end to the mutants suffering
    but none of that matter
we just want to find out what the hell is going on! And who X is! And what's up with the psychics! And....well that's about it
