While Clark Kent prepares to bid the Daily Planet adieu, he discovers an employee of the newspaper living in the storeroom.

A hardened Perry White softens when he finds out that one of his employees is homeless and lives in a stock closet. So he writes an editorial calling on Superman for help.

Notes:

  • Clark Kent is leaving the Daily Planet for a managing editor's position at Newstime magazine.
  • A homage to Julie Schwartz and Mort Weisinger on page 8 panel 4?
  • Daily Planet employee Whit speaks for the first time.
  • Next chronological appearance is in Action Comics #649.
