      The issue is typically regarded as the first appearance of the "Silver Age" Aquaman though nothing in the text indicates it. Indexers simply point to Aquaman's slightly modified costume, wearing green gloves. Previous issues had him in yellow gloves, although he first wore green gloves in issue #211, but in this issue he begins to wear them consistently, as over the past few issues he alternates between green and yellow gloves. The yellow gloves would later be used in Earth-2 appearances of Aquaman.
