I HAVE BROUGHT MY BIGGEST COMBAT SPOON TO EAT YOUR TASTY BRAINS!!

The Good: The title of this review says it all. Grodd says one of the funniest yet awesome lines of all time. I will cherish this comic forever just for that alone. XD
Sean Chen's guest art is similar enough that it's not a jarring difference from Woods' art.
It's incredibly hard to convey the greatness of this but the whole plot is amazing. You can see the scale of Luthor's awesome planning ability and actually pick out all the little clues peppered about as it progressed. I was extremely impressed with all the crazy tiny twists and turns to the plot.
    HOLY.
    CRAP.
    THE ENDING.
From the solicit for the next issue I thought the setup would be very different than it was, si this was incredibly jarring in a good way.
    Death is cute >////<
Even Jimmy Olsen's Co-Feature is strangely enjoyable.
HA. The way Jimmy Olsen's Co-Feature end is such a great joke. Also awesome. Like, "By the way? That happened. We're all totally screwed. When the hell did that happen?"

The Bad: Ha ha. Yeah right. Bad? Only in Jimmy Olsen, nowhere to be seen in Lex Luthor's Action Comics.
Jimmy Olsen's Co-Feature is extremely fun to read, but A LOT of the plot elements seem really forced. "Oh, by the way Chloe's my girlfriend but she's breaking up with me so I guess it doesn't matter." (On that, I wouldn't give a crap if it weren't for the fact that she's apparently some big deal in Smallville which I never watched, but for an intro I thought it was weak and just way too convenient. "What? Oh that's Minimoose, my OTHER sidekick. Yup. Been here the whole time.") and "By the way that guy's my eternal rival for all time, and not just because he is but also because I hate him." I mean, it's not that bad because it doesn't make the rest any less fun but, it is kind of bad from a technical standpoint or whatever.

    In Conclusion: 5/5
Attention DC. DO NOT STOP THIS. I am going to be SO PISSED if Luthor's run on Action Comics ends after this arc (Unless he gets his own ongoing...... HOLY SHIT..... I just imagined that. A Lex Luthor ongoing. That'd be balls to the ceiling awesome.) But seriously, this is like the greatest thing ever. Ok not ever, but still. It's a fucking amazing comic. Lex Luthor's Action Comics has yet to disappoint me. Nobody should pass this up. It's just win, and one of the best jobs I've ever seen of the style of doing an entire story each issue that is self-contained yet part of a direct arc. I thought it'd be weird when hearing about it but DAMN. Every issue brings heavy doeses of great writing all around.

This was a great issue.  I really loved all the Gorilla Grodd stuff.  I really like Lex Luthor's quest for the rings of power.  It's really cool.  The art in this book is first rate.  I REALLY like the dialog in this issue, it smartly written and snappy.  There aren't really any flat or throw away panels.  I REALLY want to read the next issue with Death in it.  I think it will probably be either the best or worst issue yet.  Based on this issue, I would REALLY like to see Grodd in some other b...

This is a very fun issue to read. As other reviewers have pointed out, the Gorilla Grodd/ Luthor battle of wits is filled with great writing and a gonzo sense of humor, that's an absolute pleasure. It's got a weird timeless/vintage style to it that's all it's own even in the little details like the font on the cover. This issue of course leads into the widely publicized presence of Neil Gaiman's Death in Action Comics. That alone was worth the price for a self-proclaimed Sandman-holic like mysel...
