Who Do You Fear?
The second part of a story started in the previous issue continues. Again, like its predecessor this comic epitomizes OK. With Byrne drawing you know you're getting quality. And while Gail Simone spins a decent yarn, her characters come across as a bit flat. There's some interesting appearances here from Black Adam and Zoom, the latter just appropriately whizzes by. I get the feeling Black Adam was used here to set up for a later story, but taken out of context, it's a little awkward to see him and the Man of Steel working side by side with little to no explanation. This is only the second issue I've read of Gail's Action Comics run, so I don't want to leap headlong into any conclusions, but I don't recommend this as a selling point to get new fans into Superman. It does merit a 3.5 though because for the most part, the problems with this issue aren't so much what it does wrong, but what it doesn't do well enough.
