The comic opens with a fire aboard an ocean liner. As soon as he heard about this, the modern Superman would fly at super speed, lift the ocean liner out of the sea and deposit it on land, thus rescuing all the passengers. Not the Golden Age Superman. Remember, as initially conceived...
