AC was originally created for the Japanese TV show Gosei Sentai Dairanger in 1993 as a minor villain appearing over three episodes called Lady Earring. When the show was adapted for a Western audience in the form of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season two, Lady Earring was renamed AC.

In Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Lady Earring was voiced by Yuka Arai as the monster voice and played by Yukari Nakayama. In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, AC had no speaking role and was genderswapped to a male.
