Thy Will Be Done

The Absolute Version of a story is always nice if you really enjoy a story. This is one of those Absolutes that even if you don't enjoy the story, the art alone is stellar. Alex Ross' art deserves the big treatment. Really, that is what your paying for. This Absolute is also one of the best priced ones. Still an expensive book on sale or online you can find it of a price that feels a little more fair.
Kingdom Come is a story every DCU fan should of read. It is a beautiful tale of the End of the DCU. Well not really, but kind of. It is well written and is my all-time favorite Mark Waid book. The only one of his book I purchased twice. This absolute and the trade. I don't regret it, its one of the most celebrated comics stories, not just celebrated DC stories.
The bonus stuff are nice, but the real treat is the sketch section. Just seeing how Alex Ross's pencils one day turn to this Epic masterpiece, is wonderful. Being someone who can't draw or paint, it is nice to see the process and imagine what it must be like do be able to create such work. I am glad this section was added.
The DC direct stuff is cool, but filler. The are art and additional art for this volume was a nice touch.
I enjoy this book and when I can I like to read the Absolute over the trade, the trade is more for lending out now. One a year it is nice to just take sometime and re-enjoy this book and loving the oversized art.
Cheers!
