I think because in the Spider-Man continuum Since They're going to (most likely) Introduce the Lizard People would get mixed up And Think The Abomination Is a Stronger Version of The Lizard. Any other theories?
Abomination
Character » Abomination appears in 540 issues.
Craving for the power of a Hulk, Emil Blonsky purposely had himself infected with triple the amount of gamma that the Hulk originally had. However, it turned him into a monstrous amphibious reptoid as being originally more than twice the strength of the normal calm Hulk, at the cost of never being human again.
Theories for why abomination's classic look wasn't put in movie.
Because they wanted to make him look cooler than he did in the comics.
Also they had a personal vendetta against me and wanted to make him particularily gross looking. Just to bug me.
IH was a great movie :D

Maybe they just didnot or wanted him to seem bad. Not look goofy and have the people watching the movie laugh.

Ok, In the Spider-Man movie Green Goblin didn't look like how he does in the comic books, they changed him because the original Green Goblin costume is goofy and no one could take him seriously wearing that so they made him looker. Now Abomination was different because maybe they wanted to make him look more menacing and cooler.
Here's a unofficial answer, the had to make abomination look like a abomination because in the actual comics didn't look like a "abomination"
of course its either that or its just marvel studios annoying tendency of switching and mix matching the elements of the actual comic books
I think Classic Abomination looks like the creature from the black lagoon on steroids. I would have changed his look if I was running the show.
I heard that the reason they made him look like he did in the movie was because the director, Louis Lettier said (I think) that he thought the Abomination's ears made him too vulnerable to Hulk, sort of like the Evander Holyfield/Mike Tyson fight. He said he could picture him ripping the ears off. My question regarding that is "Why not? That would've made for an AWESOME part during their fight!!!" Plus, they would've grown back anyway due to his healing factor.
The movie Abomination kinda sucked IMO, but Emil Blonsky was awesome, Tim Roth was the best part of the movie.
" The movie Abomination kinda sucked IMO, but Emil Blonsky was awesome, Tim Roth was the best part of the movie. "Yeah, Emil Blonsky is the greatest badass i've seen in a marvel movie, but in abomination form... Well let´s just say i didn't saw him being any related to Blonsky's fighting style or experience was just a green ugly (although cool looking) punchingbag.
The director said that he wouldn't look like the original Abomination because he didn't have any lizard DNA, so why look like a lizard. I think it would have looked alright if they put slight lizard accents around the eyebrows or point the ears. It wasn't bad. I agree that Blonsky was bad ass but Abom was a little bit lacking. I don't mind that they fought in NY, but they shouldn't have ended the fight in NY. I would love to see Hulk or Abom punch the other guy into another county.
