I'm glad that Zuko's scar is more pronounced that it previously appeared... but it'll still take some getting used to the fact that he has hair.
If Katara & Sokka look blonde then I think you need to alter the settings on your monitor... that's pretty convincing brown hair. Katara's hair loopies are just visible (I'm guessing they'd look silly if they hung as low as in the cartoon), and I'm relieved that Sokka's hair is pulled back into a pony/wolf's tail.
if the question is who is white? then its suposed to be Aang and Zuko(the 2 from above), but Sokka and Katara(the lower 2) are more dark toned than those persons.
I actually seen most of these pics a while ago. like sometime in the early months of this year(2009)
im still going to see this movie....i like Avatar TLA, i didnt at first but i got into it once i seen the last few episodes of the earth season. then they just started showing marathons and i caught up from that. so yea i wanna see this. but i heard race was an issue with the casting because they had white people for sokka and katara and aang.
i hope its good, REALLY because i thought the DBE movie would be good but you know how that turned out............EPIC FAIL!

Cause they are from diferent regions, and in the cartoons, they show the diference in skin color, Aang is kind of Asian so he is white, Zuko is kind of like Americans so he is white to, but Sokka and Katara are kind of like latin americans or indians, so they are NOT fully white. Cant explain much of myself right now LOL

That's actually true the being frome one region was distinguished by their skin color...
Aang was more of a yellow-ish color because of a chinese likeness Katara and Sokka were latin americans Zuko was north american and Toph was European

I was always under the impression that Aang was meant to be Tibetan, with Zuko being Chinese. That is why I asked why they should be white, while Sokka and Katara, who would be Inuit/Eskimo, should not be. None of them should really be white, IMO. I was just curious on your take. well im glad to see he respects Enter the Dragon. it is a respectable movie and inspiration for any body who wants to make an authintic martial arts movie.

its good that they are using dev patel he knows martial arts and when it comes down to it if he acts the part and believes he is prince zuko it will show on screen and he has a lot to play off of, lets just hope sokka doesn't become some overly comedic hog or katara some grrl power stereotype the writers have done a massively good job with creating these characters and lets hope the director and the actors can bring that to the silver screen
The world looks incredible from the teaser trailers I've seen. Let's just hope M. Night Shamalamadingdong doesn't put in his little freaky twist like he does for all his movies.

That's how I saw it, purely from real world comparisons to their designs & cultural fashions. The Fire Nation was always oriental in spirit than Native American. In fact, the idea that they're meant to be Northern American surprised me.

Aint that the truth... He's a good story teller, but I'm tired of the 'twists'. Hopefully, since this is the first time he's playing with someone else's material, he'll avoid any twists at the end... otherwise it'll turn out to be Katara who's the real Avatar... or Sokka is a new breed of Air Bender ;)
I've been watching the episodes lately and I have to say that its one of the best I've seen in a while. I am concerned on how this movie will go. I just have this feeling that it might not do so well.

Exactly... And don't forget that M Night Shyamalan is working with Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko. People seem fixated on just a few photos, but this is going to a big series of films... and it's with the help of the original series' creators. Yes, there'll be some differences, but it's all with the blessings of the guys who were responsible for the original cartoon. I wish some people would have a little faith.
