capn_carrot's 47 Ronin #5 - The Tale of the Loyal Retainers, Book 5 review

    A satisfactory conclusion

Mike Richardson and Stan Sakai's retelling of the 47 Ronin comes to a close here with a double-sized issue that still feels a bit rushed at times. However there's plenty of action and the pair get the overall message of the story across to readers as well. I think the comic may work better as a graphic novel than separate issues so if you haven't read it that's what I'd suggest. My real thrill comes not from this story itself but from the project ending and allowing Sakai to finally get back to writing and drawing new issues of Usagi Yojimbo.

One final note, I'd actually rate this a 3.5 instead of a 3. You can find more of my reviews (with images) on RazorFine Reviews
