Before the Silver Surfer blasts off his new ongoing series, check out this Slott/Allred story in the awesome and eye-watering Infinite Comics format!

Dawn Greenwood and Silver Surfer stop at the water planet Nautikos to observe the festival of light and see the cosmic rays in the sky. When hooligans show up to make life difficult, it's up to the Silver Surfer to save the party.

The Silver Surfer thinks it would be nice to treat Dawn to the Centennial Nautikos Festival of Lights. They arrive and the people murmur about the arrival of the Herald. (Dawn thinks they mean "Harold.") He takes Dawn to the side and changes to look more like a human. They join the throng and see cosmic rays in the sky. As in, cosmic sea rays swimming through the air. Dawn is spellbound.

The celebration is short-lived, as pirates order everyone to give up their valuables. The Silver Surfer hops up and changes into his silver form and calls his surf board - then he punches the leader out with a single punch. The surfboard protects Dawn from stray gunfire and the Surfer uses the leader's body to bludgeon the rest of the pirates. A ray is shot and the Silver Surfer rushes to its side and heals it. It returns to the sky and the citizens of Nautikos begin to get a new view of "the Herald."

Dawn is pleased the fight is over but would prefer they left. She'd like to see something with the Silver Surfer that he had never seen himself. He points them "that way" and they depart Nautikos.
