The last issue explored the Body.  Ennis now explores the soul in this issue.  What is nice about Ennis' Hellblazer is that it was not formulated yet.  Ennis was still establishing himself as a premier writer.  Elements of what would be the Peacher formula is found in this issue as well as the issue before, such as the over the top violence.  The shock factor was not the focus on this comic and that is why the message is not lost and is still clear.  This comic is classic Ennis Hellblazer: A bit...

If you believe that for every evil there´s a good, and for every sin there´s redemption, and that there´s answers in the end to explain what can not be explained, if you have faith, this is all the premises put together by Ennis and I would be much more impressed if this issue wasn´t about that at all. Notions of Catholicism and a dose of mystical mambo jambo aren´t enough for me to comprehend how a bastard can see the light in the end, when in fact he just did what he did because of the pleasur...
